WDX12

The WDX subwoofers were engineered with one goal in mind, to put
competitors on the winner’s podium! / The new WDX
subwoofer design takes the previous WD design to an even higher level
with a flat wound aluminum voice coil and a motor consisting of a 340oz
Ceramic Ferrite
magnet, sandwiched between 1010 low carbon steel top and bottom plates.
The WDX woofer was methodically designed to optimize SPL performance.
The efficient
design of the motor has an impressive Xmax of up to 30mm. Precise
control of the voice coil is handled by 3 heavy woven spiders designed
for high excursion
necessary for extreme high power levels. In extreme cases, custom spider
configurations can be special ordered. / The 3mm thick paper pulp cone
is specifically
designed to handle the enormous stress levels commonly developed inside
the cabin of the vehicles during SPL competitions. A special blend of
Kevlar, carbon and
paper are mixed to yield an exceptionally strong cone without adding any
additional weight that can lower efficiency. To keep the high excursion
linear the surround
consist of a 1.5in wide DFM foam blend. The WDX incorporates low
resistance direct connect 10 gauge speaker leads that are directly
soldered onto the 3mm thick
tinsel lead wires. This creates a clean wide open path for your
amplifier to deliver its full power directly to the voice coil. In
today’s SPL arena where multiple amps
are used on single woofers, the WDX is designed to handle 2 high-powered
amplifiers on each voice coil. / The WDX subwoofers are available in
12”, 15”, and 18”
sizes in dual 0.7, 1.0, 1.4 ohm voice coils to accomodate for multiple
wiring configurations. / To ensure that competitors would have that
absolute best subwoofer
that money could buy, all WDX subwoofers are designed and hand built in
the USA.
